How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Charleston, WV? (2026 Guide)
If you're planning a kitchen remodel in Charleston or anywhere in the Kanawha Valley, the first question is almost always the same: what will it cost? Here's an honest breakdown from a licensed West Virginia contractor based in Hurricane, so you can plan your budget before you call anyone.
Where kitchen remodels start
At Rylynn Remodeling, full kitchen remodels start around $16,000. Where your project lands above that depends on the size of the kitchen, whether the layout changes, and the materials you choose. For a quick range on your own project, try our instant ballpark estimate tool.
What drives the cost of a kitchen remodel
Cabinets. Usually the biggest single line item. Stock, semi-custom and custom cabinets vary widely in price.
Countertops. Laminate is the budget option; quartz and granite cost more but last for decades.
Layout changes. Keeping sinks, ranges and walls where they are saves money. Moving plumbing, gas lines or walls adds labor and permits.
Flooring, backsplash and lighting. Smaller items that add up, especially tile work and new electrical.
Appliances. Whether you reuse what you have or upgrade changes the total quickly.
Older homes. Many homes in Charleston, South Charleston and St. Albans have older wiring, plumbing or uneven floors that need to be brought up to code once the walls are open.
How to keep your kitchen budget in check
Keep the existing layout if it works for you.
Spend on the things you touch every day, like countertops, cabinet hardware and the sink, and save on the rest.
Make your selections before demolition starts. Changes once work begins are the most common reason projects go over budget.
